We’re looking for an Environmental Compliance Consultant to support customers day-to-day, deliver confident regulatory guidance, and help improve the way compliance is managed across a diverse client portfolio.
What you’ll do
You’ll be a trusted point of contact for clients - answering questions, reviewing submissions, and ensuring they stay compliant across relevant environmental obligations. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you’ll also contribute to internal improvements and client projects as needs evolve.
Key responsibilities
Client support & advisory
- Respond to incoming regulatory and compliance queries in a clear, professional, solution-oriented way.
- Provide practical guidance on compliance requirements, deadlines, and evidence expectations.
- Build strong working relationships with client contacts and internal teams to ensure issues are resolved quickly and correctly.
- Support client onboarding by explaining processes, data requirements, and timelines.
Data quality & submissions
- Review customer data submissions for completeness and accuracy; flag gaps, inconsistencies, and potential risks,
- Help clients understand what “good” looks like especially when requirements are complex or change over time.
Regulatory knowledge
- Maintain and develop a working knowledge of relevant environmental compliance frameworks (training provided).
- Keep up to date with regulatory updates and communicate impacts to clients in a digestible way.
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases, templates, and guidance notes to improve consistency and speed.
Account ownership & continuous improvement
- Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring a reliable service rhythm and excellent responsiveness.
- Identify where additional support could help the customer (and where viron can add value).
- Participate in client workshops/webinars and support external events as required.
What we’re looking for
Skills
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills; comfortable handling multiple client requests at once.
- Ability to understand technical/regulatory information and explain it simply and accurately.
- Confident communicator - written and verbal - with a calm, professional tone.
- High attention to detail, strong numeracy, and comfort working with data and deadlines.
- Solid IT skills (MS Office - especially Excel; familiarity with CRM or ticketing systems is a plus).
- Customer-first mindset with a practical “let’s solve it” approach.
Experience
- Experience in customer support, consulting, account management, or a compliance-related role.
- Interest in environmental sustainability and regulation (prior environmental compliance experience is beneficial but not essential).
- German driving licence preferred; willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings or events.
